The entry register as a data file
The register is a single CSV: 242 rows, eight rules, 25 festivals and awards. Each row names the rules page or document it was read in and the reading day, under CC BY-SA 4.0. As of 2026-09-25.
| Column | Holds |
|---|---|
| fact_id | Festival, rule and a counter |
| value | The rule in one sentence |
| applies_to | The section of the rules it comes from |
| source_url | The rules page or document |
| source_name | Organiser and document |
| value_since | The day this reading was first taken |
| verified | The day the rules were last checked |
Inclusion rule. Every column in the file. Order. File order.
1Working with the file
An id such as sundance-tools is Sundance's reading on tool disclosure; a trailing number, as in oscars-ai-2, marks a second reading on the same rule. The applies_to column names the section of the rules the words come from, a FAQ item, an article number or a timeline.
Rules a festival does not cover are rows too, with an empty value and the register's none wording, so a gap can be counted like an answer.
Deadline rows carry the status on the reading day. Re-read the organiser's page before relying on one; extensions are common, and an edition can close early.
A row holds the reading as a sentence, not the organiser's own words; those are quoted on the festival pages, each under the rule it belongs to. Fee readings say whether entry costs money and leave out the amount.
To follow one rule across the register, sort by the part of the id after the festival's name: every tools row, for instance, then sits in one block, festival by festival.
The calendar page is built from a short list of exact dates kept beside the file; months without a day are left in the readings only.

3Producing the entry with AI
For an entrant reading “Data”, this is what SceneMixer publishes about the film its pipeline hands over:
SceneMixer writes dialogue into the script analysis, assigns each line to a shot with a speaker and a short delivery note, and the video model performs it — picture and audio generated together, so the mouth forms that sentence in the language you chose.

Every character, scene and prop card can carry a short list of the other names your script uses for the same thing.

The quote column. Each reading in the file also carries the words on its source page that it was read from, so any row can be checked against that page. Rows recorded as not stated on the pages read leave it empty.
