Do AI film festivals accept films that are partly AI?
Several do. Reply says a film need not be fully AI-generated, WAIFF in Cannes welcomes hybrid live action and AI, the AI for Good Film Festival takes work generated or enhanced with AI, and Sundance puts no limit on AI use either way. From 4 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
| Festival | Rule | What the rules say |
|---|---|---|

| Reply AI Film Festival | AI use | The film does not have to be fully AI-generated |
| Sundance Film Festival | AI use | No restrictions on the use of AI |
| World AI Film Festival | AI use | At least three generative AI tools, one of them for images; hybrid live action welcome |
Inclusion rule. A festival is listed when its own rules state what the question asks. Order. Festivals in alphabetical order.
The festivals that want more are explicit about it. Artefact asks for AI in every phase of production, Astana for AI that is integral rather than limited to effects, T-AIFF for AI throughout the production, Sparknify's AI track for a film made wholly with generative tools.
For a hybrid film, the question is how the festival counts. WAIFF in Cannes still wants three generative tools, including one for images, even in a film that mixes in live action.

Every episode is scored for you once its first shot is generated; the music is written for the episode and mixed in under the voices.

An AI short drama is a serialized show of 60–120 second vertical episodes whose cast, sets and footage are generated by AI. Making one takes six steps: analyze the script into episodes, lock a consistent cast with reference art, localize for your market, write and edit storyboards, generate each 4–15 second shot, then composite and publish.
