1What its pages say

Midjourney is an image maker that added video. A generation starts at five seconds and can be extended four seconds at a time, to 21 seconds at most. Its terms say users own the assets they create as far as the law allows, with larger companies needing a Pro or Mega plan to own theirs. The pages read say nothing about watermarks or other marks on video.

2Why it is on the list

The entry rules of the African AI Film Festival name it.

List the main AI tools and models (Runway, Sora, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, etc.) and briefly describe how AI was used.

Six festivals here make entrants warrant they hold every right in the film and five let them keep copyright while granting a licence.

Longest clip in one generation: Up to 21 seconds

until it reaches 21 seconds, which is the maximum length available

Midjourney documentation, Video

Six festivals here want three minutes or more; three minutes alone takes at least nine clips at Midjourney's longest length.

Joining clips into a film: One clip extended

This will add another 4 seconds to your video.

Running-time rules apply to the finished film, so the clips have to be put together somewhere.

Marks on the file: None in the pages read

Thirteen of the 25 festivals here ask, or keep the right to ask, about the AI an entrant used; the marks are what the tool leaves in the file either way.

A dated reading of the maker's own pages, not advice; the festival's current rules and the maker's current terms govern. All tools.
