Entry rules for AI-made films

Filmmaking tools set against festival entry rules

Seven video tools, five of them named in the entry rules on this site, read on their own terms, help and product pages for four things the rules turn on: who owns the output, the longest clip, joining clips into a film and the marks on the file. As of 2026-09-25.

Inclusion rule. Video tools named in the entry rules on this site, and video tools whose own pages call them a way to make films. Order. Alphabetical by tool name.

1Who is on the list

Five tools are here because the rules on this site name them: Runway, in its own festival's rules and the African AI Film Festival's; Sora and Midjourney, in the African festival's list of examples; Higgsfield, whose festival takes only films made with its tools; and LTX, whose competition takes clips made with LTX.

Two more describe themselves as a way to make films: Google calls Flow its AI filmmaking tool, and SceneMixer's film page suggests it for short films first. ElevenLabs, also named in two sets of rules, makes voices and music rather than video. Tools that call their output cinematic without calling themselves a way to make films are left out.
