Platform contests: big prizes, one tool
Platform contests carry some of the register's largest sums: Higgsfield's $1,000,000 across 14 placements, for films made entirely within its ecosystem, and the 1 Billion AI Film Award's single $1,000,000 prize for a film generated with Google Gemini. From 4 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
LTX's AI Shortest Film Competition offered $3,000 for first place, a trip to Berlin and a screening, for clips made with LTX. Runway's Gen:48 paid $5,000 and credits for a film made in 48 hours.
The trade is visibility and money for a film tied to one tool. That suits a filmmaker already working on the platform and constrains one who is not.
Check whether a platform film can be entered elsewhere afterwards; the licence terms usually decide.
