Entry rules for AI-made films

Read the licence before entering

Keeping copyright is the norm on the register, but the licence that comes with an entry varies a great deal. Higgsfield's is non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free, and covers product marketing. From 4 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

The AI for Good Film Festival asks only to use the film for festival promotion, with credit. WAIFF in Cannes grants rights to the festival and its partners.

A broad licence is not necessarily a problem, but it means the organiser may use the film in its own advertising for as long as it likes.

If a distributor or another festival wants exclusivity later, an earlier perpetual licence can get in the way.

2The making side of an entry

For an entrant reading “Read the licence before entering”, this is what SceneMixer publishes about the film its pipeline hands over:

Recommended is a badge on the tier the site suggests for most finished segments. You stay on the default, 480P, until you pick another tier.

SceneMixer, Wan 3.0 · 720P: the recommended tier — “Does Recommended mean 720P is the default?” (read 2026-10-13)

The project has one dialogue language; lines you write in another language are spoken as written after a confirmation.

SceneMixer, Dialogue language and video tier — “Can characters speak different languages in one episode?” (read 2026-10-13)
